Hidden Silicon-Vacancy Centers in Diamond

نویسندگان

چکیده

We characterize a high-density sample of negatively charged silicon-vacancy (${\mathrm{SiV}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$) centers in diamond using collinear optical multidimensional coherent spectroscopy. By comparing the results complementary signal detection schemes, we identify hidden population ${\mathrm{SiV}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ that is not typically observed photoluminescence and which exhibits significant spectral inhomogeneity extended electronic ${T}_{2}$ times. The phenomenon likely caused by strain, indicating potential mechanism for controlling electric coherence color-center-based quantum devices.

Indistinguishable photons from separated silicon-vacancy centers in diamond.

We demonstrate that silicon-vacancy (SiV) centers in diamond can be used to efficiently generate coherent optical photons with excellent spectral properties. We show that these features are due to the inversion symmetry associated with SiV centers. The generation of indistinguishable single photons from separated emitters at 5 K is demonstrated in a Hong-Ou-Mandel interference experiment. Prosp...

Multiphoton-Excited Fluorescence of Silicon-Vacancy Color Centers in Diamond

Silicon-vacancy color centers in nanodiamonds are promising as fluorescent labels for biological applications, with a narrow, nonbleaching emission line at 738 nm. Two-photon excitation of this fluorescence offers the possibility of low-background detection at significant tissue depth with high threedimensional spatial resolution. We measure the two-photon fluorescence cross section of a negati...

Germanium-Vacancy Single Color Centers in Diamond

Atomic-sized fluorescent defects in diamond are widely recognized as a promising solid state platform for quantum cryptography and quantum information processing. For these applications, single photon sources with a high intensity and reproducible fabrication methods are required. In this study, we report a novel color center in diamond, composed of a germanium (Ge) and a vacancy (V) and named ...

Strongly Cavity-Enhanced Spontaneous Emission from Silicon-Vacancy Centers in Diamond.

Quantum emitters are an integral component for a broad range of quantum technologies, including quantum communication, quantum repeaters, and linear optical quantum computation. Solid-state color centers are promising candidates for scalable quantum optics due to their long coherence time and small inhomogeneous broadening. However, once excited, color centers often decay through phonon-assiste...

Coupling of silicon-vacancy centers to a single crystal diamond cavity.

Optical coupling of an ensemble of silicon-vacancy (SiV) centers to single-crystal diamond microdisk cavities is demonstrated. The cavities are fabricated from a single-crystal diamond membrane generated by ion implantation and electrochemical liftoff followed by homo-epitaxial overgrowth. Whispering gallery modes spectrally overlap with the zero-phonon line (ZPL) of the SiV centers and exhibit...
